The last time Volkswagen moved that many vehicles to America in a year, Richard Nixon was still a president in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit, and every car bearing the VW logo had an air-cooled engine. With a total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the United States, the VW Group broke its own four-decade-old sales record of 2,899 vehicles last year. Of these 580,000 vehicles sold, Volkswagen accounted for 438,000 and Audi products 139,000, an increase of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent respectively compared to the previous year. The ultra-premium members of the VW Group also achieved good results; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for an increase of 23.3 percent, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units, an increase of 52.9 percent. Bugatti, we are told, is “on the right track”. Sales of Jetta (pictured) accelerated the brand with 170,000 models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of a total of 117,000 models. Tiguan also recorded its best year with 31,731 models carried over. This listing is for a rare Manx style buggy. The previous owner told me the engine was a 1640cc.
This vehicle also comes with a beige vinyl roof and a well-made hitch – it pulls well. I understand that this Dune buggy is called the “Thunder Bug” and was manufactured by “Manx House”, which later became known as “Bugformance” in Sunnyvale, California. Here`s some information about the Thunder Bug: Thunder Bug was a custom mold made in 1968 by Clay Diekmann and Tony Vierra of Manx House (a dune buggy shop) in Sunnyvale, California. The company later became known as Bugformance. Only 50 to 70 of these bodies were produced. These were fiberglass constructions laid by hand with helicopter gun reinforcements. They were designed to have the same dimensions as their cousin the Manx. The rear housing has been raised for more distance. The hood seems to be designed for more freedom compared to tanks. Dashboard and hood thicker than most Manx kits. The interior surfaces were structured. Later versions were formed with a tube under the wing for the wiring harness.
Please do your due diligence and ask questions before committing to the purchase of this vehicle. If you are there, do not hesitate to contact me to make an appointment to see this vehicle in person. I hate doing it, but I`m going to sell my VW Dune buggy, we bought it and it took a lot of work, including a new engine. We installed a new motor and converted it to a 12V starter. There are less than 1000 miles on the new engine. This thing is a lot of fun to drive in the summer and it will definitely turn some heads. It works great and has a brand new battery installed. I really want to find a good home for this thing, someone who really appreciates it and gives it the love it deserves. Take it with you wherever you go. Great fuel saver. Message for more details, photos or questions. Skoda, oh Skoda. You`re so cool. Maybe it`s the fact that it`s a brand we don`t get in the US, but Skoda`s rebranded Volkswagen, especially the new Octavia vRS featured here, is just different enough from the boring VWs on our shores to make the Czech brand look strangely desirable. Maybe we just crave forbidden fruit. This short one-minute spot covers the new vRS in a world of plenty, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawn mowers are equipped with V8 engines, and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go into these commercials, the Octavia vRS catches the eye of passers-by who seem to be used to much more ridiculous things than a cheap Czech sedan. In fact, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in the 217-hp Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Take a look at the full place below.

You can see this car and other classics available at memorylanemotors.com racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust is a very busy guy. After all, he competes in both rounds of the Global Rallycross Series and the FIA World Rallycross Championship, not to mention his television duties. However, we probably shouldn`t feel sorry for him, because his job puts him behind the wheel of a really crazy machine. An example of this is his recent race in the Global Rallycross – the Volkswagen Beetle GRC. The German company claims that this all-wheel-drive arc develops about 540 hp from its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and can reach 60 in less than 2 seconds. Plus, if this video is any clue, this Volkswagen sounds like a machine gun when it revs idling, and it can make wonderfully simple four-wheeled fins. Previously, Foust drove a VW Polo for Andretti Autosport in the RCMP, but the team revealed the look of the GRC Beetle at the Chicago Auto Show.
Now Foust can finally show off his new office to the public, and as VW`s slogan for the new car claims, it`s much warmer than Herbie. He was a fun little grocer. He is currently on a California NON-OP. I had it in my house in Baja. As I get older and need shoulder surgery, I have to give up. I was told the engine is an 1835. It has two Weber carbohydrates. and an oscillating tail. It has a gear lever (scat) with an inverted lock.
( good layers ) It also has rotary brakes. I added a removable bracket to carry spare tires and a jack in the toolbox. There are some small tension cracks on the front nose. ( in image ) This was the case when I bought it two years ago and show no signs of deteriorating. This seems like an easy solution for someone, but not for me. It comes with a hitch hook for flat towing behind a motorhome.
